Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Cultural Services, this part-time contract position provides marketing, communication and outreach support for internal and external customers of the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton. Hours of work will vary and will be approximately 7 hours per week.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Assists with the creation and production of materials for communication initiatives, according to strategic marketing plans, as required; includes e-newsletters, surveys, forms, posters, interior and exterior digital signage, web page and social media content creation
  • Follows corporate and departmental branding guidelines in production of all materials and receives approvals by corporate communications
  • Ensures timely dissemination of event information for inclusion in Town materials and community calendars
  • Creates survey forms and questionnaires to measure customer satisfaction and analyze results
  • Organizes and provides support to outreach initiatives (e.g. pop-up events) to reach community members and share information about programs and events
  • Provides technical coaching as it relates to communication mediums and tools
  • Implements current best practices and knowledge of applicable communication mediums and tools
  • Organizes and provides assistance during on-site photography sessions
  • Complies with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with Department objectives

Education and Experience

  • Certification or post-secondary education in Arts Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • One (1) year of marketing, communications or related experience; experience in the arts is an asset
  • Experience in administration of projects and marketing materials
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service and creative skills
  • Results-oriented, detail-oriented, organized and a proven team player
  • Ability to handle several concurrent projects in a timely manner
  • Adept in utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and MailChimp
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop preferred

Hourly Rate: $23.55
