Position Summary

The Town of Milton’s Corporate Services Department is accepting applications for the full-time position of Enterprise Business Systems Analyst.  Reporting to the Manager, Business Systems & GIS, this position is responsible for understanding client business processes to design and implement technical requirements, configurations, and solutions for the Town’s Fire Dispatch, Recreation Management, and Customer Relationship Management enterprise business systems. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for technical solutions, coordinating and interacting with key stakeholders such as business experts, system administrators, developers and solution vendors.  It will employ Project Management methodologies to manage supported applications and implementation life cycles.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Administer and support the day to day I.T. operations (issue management) of the Town’s Fire Dispatch, Recreation Management, and Customer Relationship Management enterprise business systems
  • Responsible for defining business system and data processing needs
  • Oversee test plans and testing standards or procedures; as well as test script creation and execution during application implementation or upgrades
  • Identify and implement system improvement and business automation opportunities involving the development of custom reports, forms, queries, scripts or data extraction
  • Participation in on-call after hours support rotation for key business systems and applications

Acquisition and Deployment

  • Act as the technical lead in the deployment of enterprise application enhancements and new modules; communicate regularly and maintain pro-active relationships with stakeholders for day-to-day business system support purposes
  • Translate complex business requirements and business processes into relevant functional and technical specifications

Application Planning

  • Responsible for conducting quality assurance reviews on existing enterprise systems throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Provide input in the Town’s enterprise application capacity plans and review growth forecast to ensure that the enterprise application infrastructure continues to meet the growing needs of Town staff and citizens

 

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize SQL Plus, PL/SQL, Power BI, JasperReports, Crystal Reports, SSRS for data extraction and custom report creation
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to work with HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery and web browser developer tools to assist with application testing and troubleshooting
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with and supporting enterprise business applications
  • Previous Municipal experience supporting any of the following enterprise applications considered an asset: FDM, CLASS, PerfectMind, Salesforce
  • Courses in relational databases, application management or business analysis
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
  • Highly self-motivated & directed, with a keen attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service

Salary Range: $72,248 – $90,310
